Application Essay Tips and Tricks

  • Start by brainstorming a list of things that you decide to do everyday, every month, every year for others.  These should not be things that you do simply because someone else tells you to do it.

  • Elaborate or add to the areas that clearly demonstrate ethical leadership

  • Emphasize the characteristics that make you different than your peers.

  • Remember, the readers have never met you.  They will only get to know you from what you write.  (Proofread your essay to make the best impression.)

  • Make sure to be descriptive, yet accurate and objective, about your accomplishments, contributions, and why you feel you are an Ethical Leader.
